Wave Fact

I've just got some feed backs from the local hairdressers and how disappointed I am with what I've heard. Well, most of the stylist might take short cuts, especially during the busy season but things have to be done in a proper manner too. There are all sorts of tricks and ways that were created to fasten any of the chemical process in a salon. However, sometimes we have no choice but to go back to our basic theory and do the right way.
Here are some of the facts that will lead to a better "wave" (or some called it perm). Normally in a wave process, we'll have 2 main lotions which are the Lotion 1 (alkaline) & Lotion 2 (acid). Most of the Japanese wave products will have another additional lotion which is called AB (Acid Balancer). The purpose of the AB is to neutralize the residual alkali that remains on the hair.
A lot of people tend to skip the "intermediate rinsing" which is suppose to be carried out after the Lotion 1 had processed. It is necessary to have the "intermediate rinsing" before we apply the Lotion 2. It is to wash away the excessive alkaline of Lotion 1. Some parts of the hair might not be able to clean thoroughly, and that is when AB will neutralize the remaining alkali on the hair. This helps to smooth the oxidation action of Lotion 2.
The consequences for leaving the alkali on the hair without "intermediate rinsing" will weaken the oxidation action and fixing becomes insufficient. When Lotion 2 is applied during the processing of Lotion 1, the stripe is uninformed. The Lotion 2 reacts and oxidation action for the hair is obstructed. This caused the wave turned bad and becomes the effect of the damage. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out "intermediate rinsing" in the general perm procedure.
Well.. enough said on the wave procedure and I really hope that the local hairdressers wouldn't find this troublesome! :)

A New Year A New Beginning

It's the new beginning of 2008 and I hope its not too late to start up my blog. Well.. actually I don't believe that I'm blogging here while working but what the heck.
Everyone is still on holiday mood and I'm really looking forward for my CNY break. I felt like I'm away for a couple of years but it's just my 7th month in S'pore. Really miss home & my mum's cooking. Oh well... I'll start counting down the days till CNY comes.
